Bio

Ron Carpenter is a distinguished former professional football player, coach, and sports leader whose career has spanned multiple leagues and championship victories. A proud alumnus of Miami University (Ohio), Ron graduated in 1993 with a major in Urban and Regional Planning and a minor in Urban Design. During his collegiate career, he was a four-year letter winner, a three-time All-Mid-American Conference (All-MAC) selection, an All-American, and an inductee to Miami University's prestigious All-Millennium Team in 2000.

Upon graduation, Ron signed a free agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL), impressively earning a roster spot as an undrafted free agent by outperforming a seasoned veteran. His NFL career included stints with the Vikings, the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Jets, and ultimately the St. Louis Rams. As a member of the Rams, Ron achieved the pinnacle of professional football by winning Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000, a thrilling 23-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans.

Following his NFL tenure, Ron continued his professional playing career in the Extreme Football League (XFL), NFL Europe, and the Arena Football League (AFL), reaching championship games in all four leagues and capturing titles in both the NFL and XFL.

Transitioning from player to coach, Ron dedicated his expertise to developing the next generation of athletes. He served as the Defensive Backs coach at Princeton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, for seven years, later moving to collegiate coaching roles at Central State University (Ohio), Indiana University, Miami University (Ohio), and the University of Central Arkansas, specializing in defensive backs and Special Teams Coordination.

Throughout his journey across various teams and leagues, Ron has gained a deep understanding of the intricate operations of youth, high school, collegiate, and professional sports franchises, the nuanced leadership required to coach successful teams, and the art of uniting diverse personalities to create championship-caliber squads. His career exemplifies the dedication, resilience, and leadership necessary to achieve greatness in sports.

In August 2016, Ron began pursuing a Master of Education in Athletic Administration, further solidifying his commitment to excellence in sports leadership and education.

Ron is married to Tamara Carpenter, Senior Director of Customer Success at Salesforce. Together, they have a vibrant family, including their son Kamron (30), son Aidan (14), and twin sons Aubry and Dawson (10).
